The Drowsy Chaperone pays tribute to the Jazz-age shows of the 1920s and the power those shows held to transport us into a dazzling fantasy and to lift our spirits in times of sadness. The Radford University Theatre Department requested a poster that represented the 1920s and showcased the musical aspects of this play.
With this in mind I created a poster that featured a 1920s flapper sitting atop a record holding a glass of wine. I illustrated the woman and vinyl in Adobe Illustrator then put all of the elements together in Adobe Photoshop. To further advertise the show I created an ad that could be posted on their Instagram.
